Sustainability

To us, sustainability is just as important as the quality of the cheeses we produce. Over the years, we’ve modernised our production processes to make them increasingly efficient and environmentally friendly, while staying true to the Lombard dairy tradition.

We’ve implemented technologies and methods that help reduce energy consumption and protect the environment:

Photovoltaic and cogeneration systems, integrated and optimised to meet the real needs of our production cycle. Together, they cover about 85% of our electricity needs. The cogeneration system also allows for significant thermal energy recovery, used in high-temperature processes, further reducing the consumption of primary energy sources.

Heat exchanger in the pasteurisation system, to recover heat from the outgoing milk and use it to warm incoming milk.

Wastewater pretreatment unit, including a flotator and sludge dewatering unit, which purifies and clarifies production cycle wastewater, greatly reducing environmental impact.

Reduced plastic packaging, to minimise material usage without compromising functionality.

Fully recyclable packaging, partially made with recycled plastic, for the Take Away line.

Animal welfare commitment, thanks to farms operating under the Classy Farm methodology.
